Eric: Eric's influences and upbringing" are a matter of music legend. Born on March 30. 1945, he was raised in Ripley, Surrey. As a teenager, he was drawn to such blues masters as Big Bill Broonzy, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, and Sonny Boy Williamson. Eric first played with the Yardbirds, a group destined for commercial success, and widespread imitation. He left the band in 1965.
It was in 1968 that Clapton made it into the international spotlight when he formed Cream with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. The early and mid seventies was a time during which Eric struggled, and eventually succeeded, in overcoming a dependence on drugs, even while pursuing and continuing his solo career. Clapton ushered in his third decade of music -making with "Journeyman". He then followed that with "Live At Royal Albert Hall."
Clapton's place in music history has long since been assured. He then released "Unplugged" and "From The Cradle" and his popularity took a quantum leap. he has since released an album made with B. B. King, called "Riding With The King."
Sting: Born Gordon Matthew Sumner in Wallsend, Northumberland. His mother was Audrey and his father was Eric.He received his name "Sting" from his striped sweater, in which Gordon Solomon said he looked like a bee.
Primarily a musician, he worked with the band "The Police" until 1984. He has also been a school teacher and a soccer coach. He plays on guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, piano, harmonica,saxophone and pan flute. Along with his wife Trudie, he started The rainforest Foundation in 1989 to help save the rainforests.
