As streets shine with Christmas lights
A lonely woman weeps....
Remembering a special love...
The one she hoped to keep...

Her dreams crawl deep inside her...
As carolers sing their songs...
She knows not what her future brings...
Or what she has done wrong...

Looking to the sky for hope...
Ignoring people, passing by...
She prays to God for answers now....
Hoping He will tell her why...

Why the world is superficial now...
No meaning has the Christ Child's birth...
Everyone is shopping frantically...
Worshipping things right here on earth..

All she wants is her loved one...
Someone she still does adore...
For Christmastime is meant for love...
No one could ask for more...

So silently, amidst the snow..
Her dreams stay soft, and true....
She stands, and gently calls his name
On the corner of Fifth Avenue..
